Identification and prioritization of cluster

It is necessary to identify in details the economic activities of the state or region. To do so, we gather first and secondary information sources via interviews and in-depth research. The process of identification of the key economic features is described below:

  • Identification of the different business segments
  • Definition of the relevant geographic location
  • Definition of the economic realities through the intersection of the business segments with the geographic areas. In that regard, we distinguish clusters from other economic activities.

  • Selection of clusters.

Clusters, like other economic entities, can be grouped into other categories with common characteristics. Examples can be found in the food and agriculture, tourism industries, etc.. For each category, horizontal programs can be established with the identification of the critical points of the value chain and the strengthening of these points. The other business entities, not identified as clusters, remain candidates for other types of economic development projects.
